Riviera del Garda Classico Rosso Dunant

Riviera del Garda Classico Rosso Dunant

The Red with a long tradition.

The blend used to produce this wine is made up of Groppello, Marzemino, Sangiovese, and Barbera. The grapes of the different varieties are handpicked, destemmed, and crushed in the cellar, then the alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature; the skin maceration, in steel tanks, usually lasts from 7 to 10 days with several daily pump-overs. Malolactic fermentation is usually encouraged, and the wine is then aged in steel tanks for up to 12 months. A small part can be aged in wood.

It has a beautiful bright ruby color, a moderately intense aroma with fruity notes (cherry, blackberry) and seductive spicy hints. On the palate, it is warm, with a soft tannin structure, and the finish reveals a sweet and persistent taste.

It has the great and unique ability to be full-bodied and rich while also being very pleasant to drink.

It can age well for 4-5 years, developing aromas of jam, subtle notes of tobacco and leather intertwined with spicy hints of black pepper.

It is the distinctive "Red of the Lake," very enjoyable with good complexity. These characteristics make it suitable to pair with many dishes: from cold cuts appetizers to grilled meat, where it balances its soft tannins.

It is difficult to trace back to its first vintage, as it is one of the wines with the most ancient tradition in our cellar.

During its production years, it was particularly appreciated by Merum (Andreas Maerz) and by the Veronelli Guide. Gambero Rosso has awarded several vintages with two glasses, placing it among the best Italian wines in terms of quality/price ratio.
