Classic Garda Riviera Groppello DOP

Groppello Dop Wine This wine produced with “Groppello” grapes, an indigenous varietal of “Valtenesi,” can be considered a descendant of the oldest wine-making tradition of this territory. The grapes (85% Groppello and 15% Marzemino) are vinified using traditional red wine techniques, with a six-day maceration, fermentation with selected yeasts, and maturation and aging in steel barrels.

The Groppello Dop wine from the Il Roccolo Agricultural Company features a bright ruby red color, a delicately fruity aroma of small berries, fresh and slightly spicy, with a dry, gentle, savory, and enveloping taste. It pairs well with red meats, cold cuts, roasts, grilled dishes, semi-aged cheeses, cold cuts, typical Brescia-style skewers, and some fish-based preparations. Serve at 16’-18’, decant and oxygenate for 15 minutes beforehand.

It is with great pleasure that Andrea Bertazzi, owner of the Il Roccolo Agricultural Company in Polpenazze del Garda, announces the victory of the Sante Bonomo Trophy 2023, an award reserved for the best Riviera del Garda Classico Groppello Dop wine.
