Garda Classico Groppello Sara
It is the wine of our great native grape variety, cultivated almost exclusively on the Brescia side of Lake Garda over an area of approximately 400 hectares. This wine is produced exclusively with the Groppello Gentile variety. We carry out a winemaking process that enhances fruity and elegant aromas and flavors, avoiding the vegetal tannins that wines made from this grape variety often tend to express. The aroma is intense, varietal, delicately spicy with scents reminiscent of cherry, sour cherry, and strawberry. It has good acidity and minerality, characteristics of the land it comes from. A wine that is easy to drink and pairs well with food, also interesting when enjoyed chilled during the summer. We at Due Pini, who have grown up in this area, have heard many discussions and debates about this grape variety and what we have learned from our experience is that Groppello is a nonconformist wine, it is to be accepted for what it is, it has great qualities to be valued and some shortcomings that are only detrimental if one tries to produce a certain type of wine at all costs. Groppello wine is original, bold, and still needs further study to improve its understanding. It is therefore a wine geared towards renewal, towards a single direction which is to develop the natural characteristics of the grape to the fullest. The way to produce this is certainly to cultivate and vinify using organic methods.
